My day.

I'm 32 today. And its not biggie. Things are good (I don't normally 'do' birthdays very well). I have fabulous friends and family, a job that I enjoy and challenges me every day, a little hobby that keeps me a little too busy sometimes, a little shanty i'm making my own, and I'm so incredibly thankful for it all. And I get to share it here, thank you!

Off to mum and dad's for a roast lamb dinner and pavlova tonight (yum!). I think it will be BYO paper crowns though. How time flies...

photo - me blowing out the candles on my 3rd birthday cake in our old backyard in Burra. Dad's last birthday I gave him this 'thing' that converts slides into jpegs. At Christmas time he gave me and my sister a disc full of hilarious photos I don't remember having ever seen. This is one of them. Best Christmas present ever.

Blog Bliss

Don't you love finding a delicious blog - and spending hours trawling through all their beautiful posts? Just happened to me. Just then. In fact, I'm still going through her post archives but had to share with you right now, this very second, Briar Stanley's "Sunday Collector" blog.

Briar is a stylist based in Sydney and she shares stunning photos of her cooking, collecting and work. I'm very much looking forward to keeping up to date with what Briar is up to going forward. Ok, got to get back to her blog like a crazy stalker woman..... x

My on My Michi Girl

Always been a fan, i've got both the books. Now I hear on the www grape vine that Michi Girl has now gone and got herself an online shop. Fabulous. I really want one of these. But I've probably blown my budget on pretty things for my wall for the time being. Although I do like the idea of buying these and getting them all framed for a gorgeous michi girl wall.
Happy Week Lovelies xx

oh to be Lucy Laucht....

Love this outfit in particular - but i'd take any outfit she wears. Kills me. Gosh I need to go shopping. And lose some serious kgs. xx
I rarely need an excuse to indulge. I can justify a ridiculous purchase in a second. So on my last work trip overseas a bottle of the limited edition Jeff koons Kiehl's Creme De Corps was a cinch. It was even for charity and all. Fabulous product in a beautiful package. Because I so can't get that at home. And then I get home. And Ken Done has done his bit for Kiehls. Love me some Mr Done. And he is doing it for charity is well...... what can I say, one can never have too much creme de corps....

THE Greatest of Gatsby's

Wow. I finally watch the 1974 adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's book, "The Great Gatsby" on the weekend. Why? Because rumour has it that the Mr Luhrmann is set to do a remake of the movie in Sydney as we speak. In 3D (not sure about this part). Leo DiCaprio is reportedly to play Mr Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as Daisy (fabulous), Bradley Cooper (yum) wants to play Tom Buchanan. The NSW Premier has announced that it is going ahead, Baz is a bit more cryptic on the subject.
As much as I hope Bazmark are going to do a remake, the original is still spectacular. The men's wardrobe was Ralph Lauren, the party scenes made me melt. Circus marquees in all their splendour. The first - red and white, the second yellow and white (swoon), the third pink and white. And I haven't even started on the costumes - and this is before Catherine Martin has got her hands on them. The screenplay is a bit kooky at first, it is Mr Coppola's work after all. But goodness me it was amazing. Unfortunately I could find very little online in way of images from the movie. So you will just have to hire it. Enjoy x

Stylish Supplies

One of the fabulous things about doing frequent international travel for work is the duty free shopping. I'm gathering quite a fabulous collection of spirits for a beautiful bar cart. If only I could find the bar cart. The states seem to have an abundance of them - any idea where you can get a lovely one in little Aus?

Marnie Gilder

I've long been a fan of Marnie Wark's work, so it is no doubt I'm in love with Marnie Gilder's work.... because she is one in the same. Since finding herself a farmer, getting married, starting a family and taking her husband's surname she has created these stunning screen prints. I thought the style was familiar when I saw the article in the March Country Style Magazine.

I'm seriously considering the last one above, "Funny Feeling". Emma - thoughts? could this work with my new 'sophisticated' look? x

update: SOLD! I bought it, yay!! promise to post pics once framed and up.

An actioned packed three days....

I have just had a fabulous three days. One where I remind myself that yes, the grass is often greener, but the greener bit is on MY side - how fun! I met the gorgeous Anna when I was in Brisbane a couple of weeks ago and was excited for her to meet my darling friends while she was here on the weekend. It was also a fabulous opportunity for some of my other new friends to meet one another. What a riotous night we had at Sparrow and then Giallo on Friday night. Yummy recovery breakfast at the central markets Saturday morning followed by some shopping. Anna, you are an absolute delight - I look forward to your next visit if I don't see you beforehand in Brissie!

An impromptu lunch with a gorgeous new friend on Saturday, celebrating family friends 21st in the Clare Valley, cooking up a storm for mum's birthday, a home cooked indian feast and a night of serious singstar and a family gathering to celebrate mum's 60th (happy birthday mummy b!)...... I think I need to go back to work for a rest.......

Turbo pretty sparkly things

um, WOW. Loving these fabulous necklaces from Elva Fields. I've clearly been living under a rock having not come across these yet. And I was only thinking this week I was wanting a necklace similar to the above to wear to my mum's 60th birthday party . I managed to narrow these down as my two absolute favourites, but there are so many others, oh oh and the earrings as well. What a wonderful sparkly way to start the week. Thanks WSG for the heads up. Kate, me thinks you would love every single one of them as well x

woo hoo for the weekend.

I really shouldn't complain. I've been on holidays this week and have only had a 'two day working week'. But I love Friday nights - best time of the week, two whole days to yourself on the horizon. Enjoy xx
