... never hurt anyone. So incredibly excited by the launch of Matchbook Magazine.
I love all the online mags that are being created by some of the most fabulous creative and stylish - and this is not exception. So fresh, different and unique - not trying to be like any of the others - the name of their tumblr site sums it up - totally 'strikes my fancy'. Thank you, so delicious x

I like how this house is colourful but sophisticated, the different knobs on the chest with a fabulous collection of heels, the gorgeous ceramic tableware displayed in an open cupboard, the walls decorated with favourite finds. So its pretty but still grown up - a challenge for my and my little shanty town unit for 2011..... xx

One thing I love about being o/s for work is how cheap the books are here. I get the driver to drop me off at the shopping centre near where I stay (just outside of Kate Spade thank you very much) every night and engage in some serious retail therapy before having dinner and heading back to the apartment. One of the down sides is having to eat alone in restaurants. So I started reading one of the books I bought over dinner tonight. I'm only 52 pages in and I'm loving it. Had never heard of it but apparently was a number one international bestseller - where have I been?! As the blurb explains: "It's 1988 and Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morely have only just met. But after only one day together, they cannot stop thinking about one another. Over twenty years, snapshots of that relationship are revealed on the same day - July 15th - of each year....." And sure enough - the movie has already been shot in the UK, Anne Hadthaway plays Emma and is due out in Amercia's autumn this year. Unfortunately my internet connection in the apartment here is so slow its making it impossible to spend copious amounts of time in bloggy land as I had hoped. Lucky I have a good book to read....
UPDATE - finished. loved it. hated it because i loved it. so good. glad i have to wait for the movie because it has a lot to live up to.. so nice to find an awesome read so unexpectantly.
My incredibly talented and dear friend Emma's event styling and interior design business is gaining momentum and i'm incredibly lucky to get use of her 'services' (read 'incredible eye, taste and understanding of what this girl wants') for my little 'shanty town' - I can't escape colour, I love it. But i've been wanting to 'mature my look' (hey, i'm almost 32, I thought it was about time I started growing up) - Emma has been gathering ideas for me and so far, i LOVE! - see more here.

This little button is jet setting.... again. Off overseas for two weeks for the 'day job'. Hence the 'night job' (a glamorous name for running my little shop) is on pause until I return on 28 January. Orders can still be made but won't be shipped until then. Apologies for any inconvenience.
I'm looking forward to blogging my little heart out and spending time in bloggy land in my 'down time' whilst overseas working. Catch you then! xx

As we all try and believe what we see and hear about the devastation in Queensland, I can only imagine what it is like to be one of those affected. My darling sister is safe and still in her apartment building despite their basement flooding and our Qld family members are high and dry and have many of their friends and extended family staying with them who haven't been so lucky.
A little escape to Lonny land has been timely - delve in and dream thanks to their latest issue here. xxx

Not really in the mood to post pretty pictures and write silly things while there is such tragedy unfolding in QLD. Thoughts are with all those affected. My little sister lives on the Brisbane River and so far ok, she is not on the city side. Stay safe little one x
