Refining my 'style'

Unfortunately I am more 'ladette' than 'lady' - but I'd like to think this little leopard can change her spots.... My latest physical challenge is to 'grow up' and I'd really like my house and style to do the same. I've enlisted interior stylist super star (and lucky for me, also one of my closest friends) to assist me! So take notes Emmy, me likey these pics! Any chance the cupboards in my new kitchen can look this beautifully organised, and stylish every time I open them? Well, I have the same flooring so that is a start right? - maybe the little entrance hall could look a little like this??? (I know, maybe a stretch) Perfect study, somehow I think the BBT headquarters ain't going to look this serene. I'm thinking it will be more boxes and bubble wrap and less fine art and awesome shelving. And finally, any chance we could make the facade of my shanty town apartment block could be 'prettied up' to look a bit like this? - hmmmm, don't like my chances. Maybe I'll have to ask Peter Frank if I can move in with him.

Summer. Bring it.

Daylight savings. Eating outdoors. Gin, fresh lime, pink grapefruit and lots of ice. Summer dresses. Wedge heels. Nectarines and peaches. A good fake tan. BBQ's. Cinema in the botanic gardens. Balmy nights. Sunday sessions. Reading books at the beach.

I'm over you Winter, and Spring? pfft. I want Summer now.

I spent some of my high school years in boarding school. Our 'rooms' ran off either side of a corridor and were petitioned, meaning the 'wall' didn't run entirely to the ceiling. Perfect for throwing things over and conducting late night conversations with friends in the next room. When we were feeling particularly naughty after 'lights out' we would play animal farm. On the count of three everyone would make animal noises at the top of their lungs, thoroughly annoying the mistresses. We thought it was hilarious. I'll never forget Sarah one night yelling "I want, I want, I want" - someone asked which farm animal she was. She replied "I'm a 15 year old farmers daughter". Still makes me giggle 15 years later. xx

Party Perfection

A huge thank you to Letitia for sharing pics from her darling son's birthday party. Letitia lives in country SA and has opened a fabulous homeware store and decorating service, The White Shed.

She purchased some pretty sambellina party ware and cupcake wrappers from my little store for Oliver's 5th birthday. Happy Birthday Little Man, I hope you had a good one! x

When I grow up...

I want to have a grown up house. I've been a bit 'meh' about how my house is 'decorated' lately. I think I want it to be more sophisticated. I want to keep the whole 'white and colour' thing going but I want it a bit more, well.... like this place. This place is perfection. I think I'd struggle keeping it all looking this clean and white but gosh it is beautiful. I can't tell you much about it because I can't read Swedish, but I think the pics speak for themselves.

Some things never change...

This over at Oh Happy Day reminded me that my love for a short wedding dress will always remain constant. And it also reminded me that I had saved this pretty from Wedding Whims. One day, fingers and toes crossed.....
